Marco, 22 years old, lives in a Roma's suburb. His life goes on without any goal in an anonymous way. His only successful situation is his relationship with Zaira, a Somalian girl. While spending days uselessly, he meets Saverio, AKAS "The Fuhrer", head of a bunch of Nazi skins. He is fascinated by Saverio's world and tries all he can do to enter the fascist group. From that point on his life is deeply involved with the group activity. He tries to hide his relationship with Zaira, but the destiny is waiting for the final count.

A compilation of three short Corto's adventures all set in 1917. In "Heads and Mushrooms", he's in Maracaibo, Venezuela apparently suffering from slight amnesia. His friend Jeremiah Steiner, a down-on-his-luck elderly former university professor he met and helped in "Under the Sign of Capricorn" is keeping an eye on him until he recovers. Influential local antiquarian and Steiner's acquaintance, Levi Columbia, brings them a long lost diary written by a famous explorer who disappeared in the jungles of Venezuela while searching for the legendary mythical city of gold - El Dorado. He suggests that Corto continues the perished explorer's journey since there are clues in the diary to where El Dorado might actually be. Levi will finance the expedition, of course. He also gives Steiner a small bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms that supposedly restore memory. The journey proves to be an ill-fated one. Or does it? Limburg, 1760. The empress of Austria reigns the land and force heavy taxes on the peasants. Many people normally working the land see no other choice but to work in the dangerous mines. The 14 year old Martien Kremers, a peasants son, tries to save his family from ruin and comes up with a plan. After the execution of the plan he needs to do everything to keep it secret.
